Finally, Friday! A Dose of Rest and Family Fun
Finally, finally, we made it to Friday! Happy Friday to every hardworking person out there.
I’ve put so much effort into this week, balancing the endless tasks of motherhood and managing our home. Honestly, just reaching the weekend feels like a huge achievement that deserves a celebration. This week wasn't just busy; it was a test of patience and energy. That’s why I’m planning so many things to unwind, breathe, and recharge my soul for whatever the new week brings.
The Beautiful Chaos of a Mother’s Day
The life of a mom and housewife is a journey of "beautiful exhaustion." If you are a working mom too, the challenge is doubled. Every morning feels like a race against time. Today, because I was so genuinely happy that it was Friday, something miraculous happened: we weren't late for the school bus! My son and I made it right on time, laughing all the way to the stop. It felt like the universe was giving me a little high-five.
Once the house was quiet, I did something I rarely get to do: I went back to sleep for two extra hours. It felt like a luxury! But of course, the "mom duty" never truly stops. I woke up and started my usual routine—preparing breakfast, cleaning every corner, and starting the laundry. And then, there are the dishes... Seriously, where do they all come from? I sometimes feel like they multiply behind my back just to see if I’ll notice! I try to be smart and wash them while the food is simmering on the stove, but my ultimate dream is to have a dishwasher soon. It’s definitely at the top of my wish list!
Our Weekend Escape: Nature and Healing
This weekend, we are leaving the walls of the house behind and heading to the nearby river. The weather is finally starting to warm up, and the sun feels so healing on the skin. We are planning to spend the day fishing by the lake. This is the perfect environment for my son. As a child with ADHD, he has so much energy that needs to be released in a healthy, natural way. In the city, he feels confined, but by the river, he finds his true happiness. He spends hours running around, flipping over every rock he can find, and curiously observing the tiny creatures. I often wonder what those little insects think when they see this energetic boy interrupting their quiet Friday!
I’ll be packing some light, homemade sandwiches for us. Eating in the fresh air always makes the food taste a thousand times better. It’s also a wonderful chance to have some heart-to-heart talks with my husband. Nature has a way of making people more relaxed and open. And here is a little "Dose of Advice" from Nourell: If you have something important or deep you want to discuss with your husband, always choose the right time. A calm, beautiful setting like a riverside picnic is much better than a stressful evening at home. Trust me on this one!
New Hobbies and Old Memories
While the boys are busy with their fishing rods, I’ll be busy with my camera. I’ve recently discovered a deep love for photography. I’m still practicing, but capturing the intricate details of a blooming flower or the way the sunlight hits the water brings me so much peace. It’s my way of documenting the "sparkle" in our daily lives.
Speaking of small details and meaningful objects, practicing photography reminds me of how we hold onto memories through the things we love.
