The Unfiltered Motherhood
The Daily Reality of Mom Life Struggles
These are the hands that wake up before the sun even thinks about rising. Their first task is to get the kids ready for school, prepping breakfast, helping them dress, and making sure every backpack is packed so they never miss that school bus.
If you look closely, you might see small scars. These hands have been burned by the oven more times than I can count, all while trying to put a warm, homemade meal on the table for the people I love. They’ve been worn down by cleaning supplies, dish soap, and constant water over the years. I tried wearing gloves, honestly! I bought the best ones. But when you're a mom, you’re usually doing ten things at once. I’m scrubbing a dish one second, and the next, I’m stirring a pot or seasoning chicken for lunch. In the beautiful chaos of my kitchen, gloves just get in the way of the "multitasking magic" that keeps our home running.
My veins show a bit more now, and my skin stays dry no matter how much expensive cream I apply. Why? Because minutes after I moisturize, I’m touching water again. Whether it’s mopping the floors, deep-cleaning the bathrooms, or hanging laundry under the sun, how could these hands stay "perfect" by social media standards?
The Truth About Self-Care for Busy Moms
The truth is, motherhood is far from the filtered perfection we see on our screens. Every "Mom & Homemaker" knows that finding a full day for a salon visit or a professional manicure feels like a distant dream when you’re living in the whirlwind of the school week.
People often talk about "self-care," but for a busy mom, the definition changes. Honestly, when the weekend finally comes, I don’t even want a fancy spa day or a complicated beauty routine. I just want to sleep! Just one day away from the heat of the kitchen and the never-ending pile of dishes would be the ultimate luxury.
So, please, give some grace to the moms you meet who don't always look "put together." We aren't lazy, we are fighting through our days to finish a to-do list that literally never ends. By the time the sun goes down and the house finally grows quiet, all we want is to crash on the sofa and drift off into a well-deserved rest.
A Message to Every Husband
To every husband reading this: Take a moment to really look at your wife’s hands. Be her support so she can find a little time for the woman who still lives inside her, behind all those responsibilities. She often stays silent and works until her bones ache just to see her family happy. Doesn't she deserve a bit of that happiness and recognition too?
I promise you, if you give her just one day to herself, to go shopping without a stroller, to get her hair done, or to simply be without anyone calling "Mom!", she will come back like a new person. She will be ready to carry a mountain of responsibility for another month, simply because you gave her a moment to feel like herself again.
This was Nourell, sharing a little piece of my "unfiltered" world with you. Sending you all doses of sparkle and strength today.

My hands have a bunch of fresh cuts today, some of the roofing material I'm working with is rather sharp. :) It's okay, though. We did get to take a day off yesterday and hit the mountains. I got to just spend time out in nature with the family, just having fun. It was wonderful!
